Mayhem: Street Beat Em Up Advanced Gameplay Tactics

Winning Strategies

Each of the three playable characters brings a genuinely different rhythm to a fight, so leaning into whichever style suits your reflexes best matters more than trying to master all three equally at once. Since scoring points is required to actually unlock Russell and Jennifer, spending real time with your starting character early on pays off twice over, both in immediate combat effectiveness and in eventually gaining access to the other fighters.

Control Scheme

  • Player one moves with WASD or the arrow keys, jumps with Space, attacks with F and G, and defends with H.
  • Player two moves with WASD or the arrow keys, jumps with L, attacks with P and O, and defends with I.
  • Note that arrow key movement is only active during Story Mode rather than every game mode available.
  • In the two-player section, the first player to win three rounds against their opponent takes the overall match.

The overall goal shifts depending on which mode you're in: the story mode sends you fighting through Dark City, a Forest, City Town, and a final Castle stage against escalating waves of bad guys and mutants, while the two-player mode strips all of that away for a purely competitive best-of-three showdown between friends. Beyond the raw mechanics, working through Dark City, a Forest, City Town, and the final Castle gives the campaign a satisfying sense of place, with each new setting bringing a slightly different visual backdrop and enemy mix to keep the adventure from feeling repetitive across its full length.
